Frequently Asked Questions...
IBM T30 model 2366 won't boot?
will only boot up every other day or so. Like clockwork... when it does I check the bios and it reads my memory. I have changed the CMOS battery... cannot get it to turn on a consecutive time. Is there a 'capacitor' hanging up or something . I'm not an electronic genius but i know alot about computers. Heard there is alot of talk about bad memory slots to the motherboard but that's not the case due to the fact that almost 2 days after an initial good boot it will finally boot up again but only for that one time. It's not the main battery or the AC power inverter.. When it doesn't boot all I get is the battery icon and the power icon on the indicator lights ... I have changed Ram memory and even another HDD. took it all apart cleaned out everything . I don't know what else it could be. I'm hoping it's not the mother board... And I can't leave it on all the time. so any IBM or Lenovo genius pls help
Answer:
sounds like a failed capacitor, reset the bios to defaults and/or take the cmos battery out for 24 hours and see if that corrects the problem(also remove the main battery for the same time)
