Gas cooker spares are just as readily available for purchase as most other appliance parts. Websites that specialise in selling these parts have made it even easier to find and buy the gas cooker spares you need.
Gas Cooker Spares that Require a Qualified CORGI Registered Gas Fitter
Even though some gas cooker spares must be installed by a qualified CORGI registered gas fitter in the UK, it is possible to purchase the parts first in order to save money on the purchase price.
Ask your CORGI registered fitter for a written quotation for the gas cooker spares first, including full part descriptions. You can then search online for the spare parts you need with your appliance make and model number in order to save yourself money.
Parts that fall into this category include the igniter, the ignition button, the burner body, the spark plug, the internal flame failure device, the thermostat assembly and an LPG conversion kit. The flame failure device is one of the more expensive gas cooker spares to replace so large savings can often be made by sourcing the part online yourself. The gas nozzle for the burner base cup must also be fitted by a qualified technician.
Gas hoses and connectors are gas cooker spares that are required by law to be replaced by a qualified CORGI registered gas fitter in the UK.

Oven door seals can degrade or perish over time leading to loss of heat, which affects oven temperature and is obviously wasteful. These can all be replaced fairly easily without the need for a registered fitter. Gas cooker doors, hinges handles and door seals are all available to buy online. You will just need to know your gas cooker make and model number in order to find the correct parts for your cooker.
